Black Stars to open camp in Morocco today for Nigeria, Uganda friendlies

The senior national team, the Black Stars will open camp today in Morocco for their upcoming friendly games.

Ghana will renew its rivalry with Nigeria on Friday, March 22 before taking on the Cranes of Uganda on Tuesday, March 26 at the Stade de Marrakech.

The games will form part of the Black Stars' preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali later in June this year.

After a horrendous and abysmal performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast where the team suffered a second consecutive group phase elimination will hope to return to win the games.

The Football Association (GFA) sacked Chris Hughton following the team's poor performance at the tournament.

Otto Addo, who has been reappointed as Black Stars coach on a 34-month deal together with Joseph Lauman, Joseph Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda as his technical team will lead the team for the friendly games.

Addo has already released a 26-man squad for the games without Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams and Joseph Paintsil due to various reasons.
