Bournemouth would welcome Chelsea defender Ake \'with open arms\' - Cherries defender Daniels

Published on: 26 June 2017

Bournemouth defender Charlie Daniels has stated that he would welcome back Nathan Ake to the Vitality Stadium this summer.

Ake spent the first half of last season on loan at Bournemouth and the defender managed to impress for the Cherries, putting in a number of fine displays.

Ake's loan spell at Bournemouth was cut short though as Chelsea decided to recall the youngster in January but it has now been claimed that the 22-year-old could be back at the Vitality Stadium this summer, with Bournemouth said to be preparing a £20million offer.

Daniels told the Daily Echo: "I thought he was a very good acquisition for us last season.

"It was a shame he had to go back to Chelsea when he did. He was a great person to have in the squad and he scored some important goals for us.

"We would welcome him back with open arms."
