Leicester City have apologized to Chelsea after defender, Daniel Amartey was seen throwing the London based club's pennant on the floor after their historic FA Cup win.

Youri Tielemans’ superb long-range goal in the second half was enough to seal Leicester City’s 1-0 victory over Thomas Tuchel’s side at Wembley on Saturday.

Having secured the club’s first-ever FA Cup trophy, Leicester’s players continued their wild celebrations in the dressing room after the ceremony on the pitch had finished.

But Chelsea fans were left fuming after Amartey was filmed tossing Chelsea’s FA Cup pennant aside during the dressing room celebrations.

Amartey briefly held up the pennant to the camera before he threw it over his shoulder to the floor.

The video angered some Chelsea which led to the abuse of the defender on social media.

The Chelsea pennant was exchanged before the game by Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Kasper Schmeichel, who skippers Leicester in Wes Morgan’s absence.

Following the backlash from the Chelsea fans and the football fraternity, Leicester City has apologized to Chelsea as they prepare to travel to London for the Premier League game on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have accepted the apology but Amartey has been spoken to about the incident or issue an apology to the club.
