BREAKING NEWS: Osei Palmers disqualified from contesting GFA election; George Afriyie, Kurt Okraku, 4 others given the clear

Owner of Tema Youth Football Club, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has been disqualified from contesting the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential elections.

The news was confirmed by the Normalization Committee on Thursday afternoon after receiving the report from the vetting committee which grilled all seven aspirants last weekend.

The report by the five-member panel has disqualified Palmer who has now been dropped from the race for the vacant seat left by Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi following the airing of the Number 12 video by Anas Aremeyaw Anas last year.

A publication on the GFA website this afternoon has confirmed that Amanda Clinton, George Ankoma Mensah, Nana Yaw Amponsah, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, George Afriyie, and Frederick Pappoe have been given the clear to contest.

“The Normalization Committee acting as the Elections Committee for the 2019 GFA Presidential and Executive Council elections has received the recommendations of the Vetting Committee”.
