BREAKING NEWS: Prosper Narteh Ogum to be named new Hearts of Oak coach

Hearts of Oak have reached an agreement with Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum to take over the club as the head coach of the club, Footballghana.com understand.

The Phobians have been without a substantive coach after Slavko Matic was chased out by the fans of the club due to poor run of results. Matic replaced Samuel Boadu.

The assistant coach for the side, David Ocloo has been in charge of the side for about two months now and is now expected to be in charge until the end of the season.

However, the Majority shareholder of the club, Togbe Afede XIV has approved the appointment of Prosper Narteh Ogum after a meeting with the board and management of the club.

Prosper Ogum, who is a former West African Football Academy [WAFA] head trainer will take over the club next season for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Prosper Narteh Ogum has been unattached since he was sacked by Asante Kotoko before the start of the 2022/23 season having led the side to win the 2021/22 Premier League title.

Prosper Ogum before signing a two-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors steered WAFA to a 3rd place in the 2020/21 season.

The University of Cape Coast lecturer will be hoping to lead the Phobians to glory next season.

Prosper Ogum also served as the assistant coach of the Black Galaxies.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak who sit 3rd on the league log with 42 points will be hosted by Bechem United in the matchday 27 games on Sunday at the Nana Fous Gyeabour Park.
