Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba has reportedly submitted a transfer request as he looks to move away from the club ahead of their clash against arch rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday.

Yacouba has turned several offers to extend his contract with the Porcupine Warriors as he looks to force his way out in the on-going transfer window.

His current contract is set to expire in April this year and has failed to agree on a new deal offered to him with the club's Executive Board Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei disclosing that his outfit can't afford the demands of the striker which is around $150,000 for a three-year deal.

According to a report filed by Kessben FM, the Burkinabe has told the officials of the Reds that he wants to leave for a new club and it is believed that several clubs in Ghana including Hearts, Ashanti Gold SC and Legon Cities FC all monitoring his situation at Kotoko.

Footballghana.com understands that, the 28-year-old has been omitted from the squad to face Hearts of Oak on Sunday by coach Maxwell Konadu.

Yacouba joined Asante Kotoko on a two-year deal in 2018 and has since been a key cog of the team as he scored two goals and registered five assists in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Burkina Faso international is yet to score for Kotoko in the on-going Ghana Premier League after missing from the spot against Ebusua Dwarfs over the weekend.
