Brentford's forward Tariqe Fosu targets winning trophies with Black Stars

Forward Tariq Fosu is aiming at winning laurels with the senior national team, the Black Stars.

The 24-year-old Brentford defender was handed a debut call up by head coach of the Black Stars, CK Akonnor in October this year.

He made his first Ghana appearance in October 2020 against Mali in a friendly at Antalya, Turkey.

Tariqe scored against Qatar in a 5-1 win in Turkey in another friendly match.

With Akonnor tasked by the Ghana Football Association to win teh next African Cup of Nation [Afcon], Tariqe is hoping to play a key role and help in winning trophies with the country.

"I want to win trophies, bring trophies back home and try to help the team as much as possible to bring a trophy to people back home," he said.

Akonnor will be hoping to seal Ghana's Afcon qualification next year in March 2021 when they play away to South Africa before playing their final Group C game against Sao Tome at home.
