Union Berlin has been ordered by UEFA to close two sections of their home stadium for their upcoming Europa Conference League fixture after visiting Israeli fans were subjected to anti-Semitic insults during a recent European encounter.

After Union fans verbally abused visiting Israeli supporters at Berlin's Olympic Stadium when the home team beat Maccabi Haifa 3-0 in September, UEFA's disciplinary committee cited "racist behavior" as the reason for the fine.

Union banned one of the culprits indefinitely after identifying him and turning over the information to the authorities, who are investigating.

Union also requested that the individual be barred from all football stadiums in Germany from the German Football Association (DFB).
