CAF CC: Umar Bashir believes the absence of domestic football has affected Kotoko in Confederation Cup

Ahead of Sunday’s clash with Nkana FC, Asante Kotoko midfielder Umar Bashir has blamed lack of domestic football for his side struggles in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The former WAFA midfielder described tomorrow’s game against the Zambian giant as a decider considering his side’s chances of qualifying to the next stage of the competition.

Bashir believes that the Porcupine Warriors are taking too much time to shape up for the competition than it would have taken if domestic football had been active.

“The lack of Premier League football in Ghana is affecting our conditioning, but we have to forget about it, move on with our preparations and make sure that we make ourselves ready for every game we go into.”

“Tomorrow’s game is like a decider for us if we want to move to the next level of the competition,” he told the media at the pre-match presser.

A win will send Kotoko level on point with Nkana on the table.
