CAF Conf. Cup: I’m highly optimistic that we can eliminate CARA football club - Felix Annan

Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan is confident they will sail through by whipping Congolese side Club Athlètique Renaissance Aiglon in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederations cup.

The 23-year-old shot stopper claimed Africa matches are difficult because coaches and players hardly get information or clue about their opponents but was highly optimistic that the fabulous club will eliminate Club Athlètique Renaissance Aiglon (CARA).

Kotoko who defeated Accra Hearts of Oak in the finals of the MTN FA Cup to secure a ticket to Africa, have been drawn with nine-time Congolese champions, Club Athlètique Renaissance Aiglon in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederations cup .

“Every team that plays at this level is not a mere team or bad side because they had  already performed well at their home soil before qualifying and we must all see it as such and prepare for them. We have it at the back of our minds that Africa matches irrespective of the opposition will not be easy, so,we will prepare for the task ahead “said Felix Annan

“We are excited as players that ,we are going to participate in the CAF Confederations cup competition because it provides a lot of opportunities for players who will blossom . If you want to be the best you always have to beat the best therefore we have to prepare well for them in other to be in a good shape “Annan indicated

The first leg of the competition will be played on the weekend of February 9-11, 2018 in Kumasi and, the second leg is expected to take place on the weekend of February 20-21 2018.

The winner of the tie will meet the winner between Ben Guardane and Al Hilal Juba.
