Egyptian giants Zamalek were held to a pulsating goalless draw by Dreams FC in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals first leg.

The Ghana FA Cup holders will now go into the return leg with the advantage having secured a crucial away draw at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Sunday.

Despite the intimidating atmosphere, the Still Believe lads showed resilience and prevented Zamalek from scoring on home turf.

Zamalek were limited to just six shots on target out of their 25 goal attempts, which is a clear indication of Dreams FC’s resilience and determination.

The Ghanaian outfit created limited goal scoring opportunities in the crucial encounter but ensured they don’t concede against Zamalek.

The outcome of the game appears to be a positive one for the reigning FA Cup champions but will have to stay focused for the return encounter next weekend.

Dreams FC are unbeaten at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Confederation Cup and will be hoping to maintain when they take on Zamalek.

A victory in Kumasi would propel Dreams FC to secure a historic qualification to the finals of their maiden participation in Africa competition.
