CAF Confederations Cup: Nigerian outfit Rivers United to arrive in Ghana today ahead of Dreams FC clash

Nigerians outfit Rivers United will arrive in Ghana on Thursday, November 30, 2023 ahead their CAF Confederations Cup game against Dreams FC.

The Still Believe lads will play host to Rivers United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in their second group game.

The reigning Ghana FA Cup holders are aiming to bounce back to winning ways after early group stage setback against Club Africain. Dreams FC succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Radès last Sunday.

Dreams FC paid a visit to the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday to meet with His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, ahead of their crucial game. The visit demonstrate respect for the King, who also owns Asante Kotoko, seeking his blessings for the crucial match.

Rivers United on the other hand made a strong start to competition after beating Academica do Lobito 3-0 in their opening game.

The Nigerian outfit will count on the Ghanaian attacker Samuel Adom Antwi and Paul Acquah when they face the Still Believe lads. Antwi was on target when Rivers United demolished their opponent.

Meanwhile, the Still Believe lads will be without their captain, Abdul Jalilu who was red carded in their game against Club Africain.
