Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler is eager to sign for Manchester United in January.

United have sounded out the 20-year-old about a making the move to England as Jose Mourinho looks to add creativity to his midfield ranks after an over reliance on Paul Pogba.

The Sun says Soler has demanded Valencia thrash out a deal with the Premier League side, as he is keen to join United in the new year.

United could look to take advantage of Valencia's recent financial difficulties and stick to their original £40m valuation.

The La Liga side are holding out for around £45m.

A potential player-plus cash deal could be on the cards as Valencia have Andreas Pereira on loan from United and have registered an interest in contract rebel Marouane Fellaini.
