Cassano not ready to rule out return

Despite enrolling in a FIGC course to become a sporting director, Antonio Cassano isn’t ready to call it quits on his career just yet.

The 36-year-old hasn’t played in two years, as he was first frozen out at Sampdoria and then left Hellas Verona last pre-season after less than a month at the club.

Cassano has stated in the past that he is ready to continue his career, and he hasn’t given up on that dream despite his decision to sign up for the course.

“I’ve signed up for the course, it’s true,” he told reporters. “However I don’t know how often I will attend [class].

“I still feel like a player and I’m just waiting for the right call.”

Other notable names taking part in the course include AC Milan director Leonardo and Fiorentina sporting director Carlos Freitas, along with Morgan De Sanctis, Cristian Zaccardo, Rolando Bianchi and Giulio Migliaccio.
