The Ghana Supporters Union is calling on the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Government to cushion the union to send members to Algeria to support the Black Galaxies in the ongoing TotalEnergies Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament.

General Secretary of the Union, Mr. Kasim in an interview has disclosed that they are not happy members are not in Algeria to provide needed support for the national team.

"We are not okay, because it never happened before that Ghana will play football without our Supporters, this Black Galaxies even from the time of qualification we were behind them till they qualified,” the General Secretary told kickoffghana in an interview.

Kasim added, "Ministry and Government of Ghana sent supporters to Qatar to support Black Stars so we were expecting to do same for the Galaxies too.

"The last time we met the minister he told us that financially they're not strong but we should expect after our first game if something good will happen.

"Now we are pleading to the ministry to support us in some way to send some supporters to support the Galaxies in our second game against Sudan on Thursday.”

Ghana commenced the campaign at the 2022 CHAN tournament on Sunday in a clash against Madagascar.

At the end of the contest, the Black Galaxies suffered a 2-1 defeat in a game played at the Mohammed Hamlaoui Stadium.

Up next for Ghana, the Black Galaxies will face off with their counterpart of Sudan on January 19.
