Chelsea Star Posts Reunion Pic With Former Boss and Reignites Those Transfer Rumours

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has givenBlues fans a reminderof his ties to former club Atletico Madrid after posting a picture online with his former boss Diego Simeone.

Costa made his name at Atletico, scoring 27 La Liga goals in 35 appearances during the 2013-14 season before making the move to Stamford Bridge. He was an instant hit in England, though often vilified for his combative style of play.

Heultimately scored 20 Premier League goals during his debut season as Chelsea won the league.

After something of a slump last year, Costa is back on top form, having already bagged nine league goals, but his latest Instagram post will have done little to convince Chelsea fans that Stamford Bridge is his permanent home.

Captioned with the quote'great reunion with great memories', the picture has reminded supporters of the Stamford Bridge outfit just how highly Costa regards his former club managerSimeone, as they enjoyed dinner on Monday night in Spain.

The Spaniard's scintillatingform at club level has seen him included in his country's most recent international squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Macedonia.

The picture has now been commented on over 700 times, with Chelsea fans voicing their opinions on a possible transfer saga just months after Costa revealed he was eager to rejoin Atletico in the summer, having endured a disappointing campaign during the 2015-16 season.

"I wished I could go back to Atletico, I'm not going to lie," Costa told Spanish television,as quoted by the Daily Mail, back in August.

"Everyone knows what happened to me there [England], with the language, the weather and everything. But I can't complain because I'm a boy whom the fans love, at Chelsea they respect me.

"I had the chance to go back but I couldn't, because of a few details. I'm grateful to the people at Atletico, to Cholo [Simeone] especially, who has always put his confidence in me."
