Chelsea Target Would Be Perfect Left-Back for Liverpool or Everton According to Italian Journalist

Given Liverpool's well-documented woes with the left-back position this season, Italian journalistLeonardo Vivard believes that Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam would be a perfect fit in the side, as well as that oftheir Merseyside rivals Everton.

Vivard, who writes for Italian outletCalcioNapoli24, follows the player very closely. He says that the Algerian is physically suited to cope with the rigours of the Premier League, and would be an ideal player for the aforementioned clubs.

For me, he'd be perfect for the Premier League," he said in an interview withLa Gazette du Fennec. He's very good physically. He's the classic offensive left-back who would be ideal for clubs like Liverpool or Everton, but we'd rather he stayed in Naples.

Ghoulam, 25, is also a reported target for Chelsea. The Blues were said to have launched a bid of £24mduring the summer, but nothing materialised.

Antonio Conte is getting the very best from his current defensive line, however, the former Italy boss is believed to be still searching for options he could bring in in January.

Having failed to sign Ghoulam's teammate Kalidou Koulibaly during the last window, the Blues, according toAlgerian news sourceLe Buteur, will try their luck again in January, but could struggle to sign him, with Manchester City and Arsenal interested as well.

Conte brought in David Luiz and Marcos Alonso this season, and the pair are doing splendidly well at the back. The Blues have only let in one goal in their last seven matches, yet Conte is still on the hunt for new defenders, and could make some serious effort in the upcoming window.
