Chris Hughton will take charge of his first game as Ghana coach against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in March.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion manager is expected to be confirmed as the new Black Stars coach this week by the Ghana Football Association.

The Black Stars will play Angola in doubleheader games, with the first to be played in Ghana on March 20 while the reverse fixture is set to take place in Angola a week later.

Hughton is expected to name his first Black Stars squad during his unveiling for the two games.

The Black Stars are currently top of Group E of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers with four points after beating Madagascar and drawing against Central Africa Republic in the first two games.
