Chris Hughton will do a good job for Black Stars – Angola coach Pedro Goncalves ahead of AFCON qualifier clash

Head coach of the Angola national team, Pedro Goncalves has hailed the appointment of Chris Hughton as the new Black Stars coach.

The Ghana FA announced the former Newcastle United and Brighton manager as the new coach of the national team on Sunday, replacing Otto Addo who resigned after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Speaking to reporters, Pedro Goncalves expressed confidence in Hughton but vowed to upset him when they face off in the AFCON Qualifiers next month.

Ghana will host Angola at the Cape Coast Stadium in the first leg in March before the return fixture in Luanda.

“Well, I have never met him personally. I have never been with him. Sure, we have a chance to cross each other. We haven’t talked to each other before but this is a chance to meet each in the AFCON qualifiers” he told Ghanasportspage.

“He is an experienced coach and right now that he is in charge of the Ghana national team, I hope he is going to do a good job but my work right now is to create trouble for him”

“Yes, I hope we will have a fair match and then we will see but for now I wish to create trouble for Chris Hughton,” he said.
