Seth Asiedu director of charity Becky's Foundation has revealed Christian Atsu's huge influence in helping the orphanage.
According to Asiedu, the late Black Stars winger was their pillar of support, and whenever he got out of his car all the children run to embrace him.
Christian Atsu was one of the casualties in the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria in February. His final funeral rites will be held on March 17th at the forecourt of the State House.
"A pillar of support is gone," Asiedu told BBC Sports
"I term it as a full package - from education, provision of learning material, school uniforms, all the necessary things they need to study with,"
"And then with water and sanitation. He came to drill a borehole for us, help us with filters so it can be drinkable,"
"He brought solar panels to help with electricity,"
"He brought a big television set and asked them to use it any time he is playing."
