Christian Atsu’s future at Newcastle Utd remains uncertain

The future of Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu at Newcastle United continuously looks uncertain with the new takeover making matters worse.

It is understood that the new owners could do a massive overhauling when they finally complete the takeover.

Christian Atsu who struggled for playing time prior to the suspension of the 2019/2020 football season is one of many players who could be released if the takeover is finalized.

The Black Stars asset has one more year with Newcastle United and could be sold if the club receives an offer. If no and the club still wants him out of the team, they will need to pay him off and release him when the summer transfer window comes around.

It is uncertain what the future holds for the Ghanaian but as he has said in the past, he remains committed and will keep fighting for a place in the first eleven of the team.

Atsu, 28, made 19 appearances in the English Premier League before it was suspended due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Though he did not score, he provided 3 assists.
