CK Akunnor insists Asante Kotoko is ready for Africa

Asante Kotoko coach C.K Akonnor says his side is prepared for their upcoming Africa campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors is the only club to represent Ghana in this year's CAF's inter-club competition due to the truncation of the Ghana Premier League.

Having earned a walkover in the first preliminary round, the Ghana Premier League side now takes on a Kariobangi Sharks side who impressed in the first round by edging out Djibouti's Alter Solar by 9-2 on aggregate.

However, Akunnor says Kotoko are ready for their CAF Confederations Cup campaign.

"It is good to see what Dr Kwame Kyei is doing for the club and from the management level, George Amoako has been doing all he can to help the club and one thing I can assure you is that we will work very hard, do our best and get as far as we can," Akunnor told Asempa FM.

Quizzed about how the new players adapting at the club, he said, "The team keeps improving every now and then and that's a good sign

"We want to see improvement in every much because it raises our confidence level," he added.

Asante Kotoko are expected to leave the shores of Ghana to Kenya on Tuesday morning ahead of the first leg clash slated for the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
