CONFIRMED: Bibiani Gold Stars to replace Asante Kotoko for GHALCA TOP 4

Bibiani Gold Stars has replaced Asante Kotoko in this year's GHALCA Top 4 tournament.

The Porcupine Warriors have pulled out of the tournament due to the current restructuring which is ongoing at the club.

Following the dissolution of the 12-member board of directors led by Dr Kwame Kyei and the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah after their mandate expired, a four-member Interim Management Committee (IMC) was confirmed over the weekend to restructure the club.

And according to the Chairman of GHALCA, Kudjoe Fianoo, Gold Stars will replace Asante Kotoko for the tournament.

Gold Stars, who finished 5th last season with 49 points will now join Medeama SC, Aduana Stars and Bechem United for the tournament that will serve as a preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign which will get underway in September later this year.

The games will be staged at the Baba Yara Stadium scheduled from August 6 to 13.

Last season, Great Olympics emerged as the champions of the tournament which was staged at the Accra Sports Stadium.
