Cristiano Ronaldo quit shock splits Real Madrid squad in two camps

The bombshell that Cristiano Ronaldo could quit Real Madrid this summer has split the locker room.

Diario Gol says the revelation has separated the squad into two camps.

Real captain Sergio Ramos' comments last season that "the only one who does not have to defend here is Cristiano Ronaldo, who scores 60 goals" upset many players at the time - and the feeling remains.

Indeed, one unhappy teammate declared this week, "It would be better for all if he goes".

In the pro-Ronaldo camp are Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Keylor Navas and Fabio Coentrao. But with Coentrao and Pepe on their way out, it leaves Ronaldo isolated.

Meanwhile, in the anti-Ronaldo camp are Isco Alarcón, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Álvaro Morata and Marco Asensio, who all believe every player should be treated the same.

Ronaldo's future with Real remains at deadlock, with nothing expected to be decided until after the Confederations Cup.
