Ace sports journalist, Dan Kweku Yeboah has cast doubts on Asante Kotoko new recruit, Michael Vinicius, insisting he will not add quality to the club.

The Brazilian joined the Porcupine Warriors prior to the start of the second half of the Ghana football season.

The lanky forward signed a two and half year deal with the club.

Despite scoring on his debut for the club, the award-winning journalist believes the former Fluminense forward will not improve the club.

Kweku Yeboah hailed Fabio Gama, who is also a Brazilian and admitted the 28-year-old is a top-quality player.

“Fabio Gama is obviously a top-quality and he will surely improve Asante Kotoko as we have all witnesses,” he said on Adepa TV on StarTimes.

“His ball control and reading of the game is fantastic and he reminds me of Jordan Opoku. For me, he is a good player.

“With [Michael] Vinicius, I honestly don’t know why the club signed him. I don’t see him adding any quality to this Asante Kotoko team.

“It is about Asante Kotoko get their priority right moving forward because they cannot play like against Medeama and against other big teams,” he added.

Asante Kotoko suffered a 2-1 defeat to Medeama on Saturday at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the matchday 21 games.

The defeat leave the Porcupine Warriors at the 2nd position with 35 points and will be hosted by Legon Cities in the matchday 22 games this weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.
