David Accam is important for our team- Chicago Fire coach Veljko Paunovic

Chicago Fire Coach Veljko Paunovic has admitted Ghanaian forward David Accam is important to the club.

The winger has scored 12 times and provided seven assists the season so far but has not started in the last 6 games of the club as there are reports of a fall out between Accam and Coach Paunovic imminent.

David Accam came on in the 55th minute to grab a consolation in Chicago Fire’s 3-2 defeat to Sporting Kansas City.

However, Coach Veljko Paunovic has indicated how important the striker is to the club.

“David [Accam] obviously scored the goal, it’s an important goal,” he told reporters after the game.

“It was a great cross by Patrick Doody, it was a good assist and yeah he had the opportunity to tie the game. Another great build up and great cross from [Matt] Polster. Yeah of course, David is important for our team," he added.

David Accam,26, is being linked with a move to Europe as French side Guigcamp interested in the services of the attacker.

The Ghanaianis having his best season for the Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire but was omitted by Coach Veljko Paunovic in the MLS All-Star team that will face Real Madrid next month.
