Former Ajax star Ronald de Boer believes they should sell Davinson Sanchez.
The Colombia international is the subject of intense negotiations between Ajax and Tottenham over a fee.
De Boer wrote for Voetbal International: "In the Netherlands we tend to think in terms of talent development and career planning. In an almost naive and romantic way.
"A boy like Sánchez looks at it very different. He is a bread earning player who can safeguard the financial future of his entire family in Colombia. Do not worry about the sporting progress if you can go to a Premier League club; Sánchez will make financial considerations."
Ajax are demanding €50m from Spurs to sell Sanchez this week.
