Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has suggested that West Ham's midfielder, Declan Rice, would provide a significant boost to Arsenal and potentially be an improvement over Thomas Partey.
Currently, Arsenal sits two points clear at the top of the Premier League table, but their recent 4-1 defeat to Manchester City puts their title aspirations in jeopardy. While Partey has been a key player in Arsenal's successful run, his recent dip in form and the need for strong competition may require reinforcements like Rice.
In an interview with bettingexpert (via Football365), Silvestre emphasized the importance of top clubs having strong competition and acknowledged Partey's excellence this season, stating his belief that Partey will regain his best form.
"I think Partey has been excellent this season and he has played his best football for Arsenal. So, I expect him to respond and go back to his best after a few bad games.
"But obviously, every top club needs competition and Declan Rice, with all the respect for Thomas Partey, would be an upgrade, for sure."
