Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Evans Opoku Bobie, has called for education on crowd control for police officers in order to ensure fan safety and attract more fans to the stadium.

Speaking at a dialogue aimed at encouraging fans to return to local match centers, Bobie highlighted the recent downturn in fan attendance at the Ghana Premier League and emphasized the importance of collaboration between police and security agencies.

Bobie believes that many police officers and security personnel lack sufficient knowledge of crowd control, and that this needs to be addressed to improve safety and security at the stadium.

"Safety and security at the stadium should be number one; it is very key. It can cause everything to collapse. If something happens at the stadium, a lot of people will not come back again," he told Asempa FM.

Bobie believes that improving safety and security will help to attract more fans to the stadium, and that fans will only return if they feel that their security is guaranteed.

"If I'm going to watch a game and my security is not guaranteed, I won't go. Some people look at the set up of stadiums and decide not to go and watch games," he said.
