Experienced football administrator, Takyi Arhin has advised Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold SC to abandon plans to play in CAF’s inter-club competitions next season.

Following the cancelation of the 2019/2020 Ghanaian football season as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the two clubs from the Ashanti Region has been selected to play in Africa in the 2020/2021 season.

Speaking to Alpha Radio, Takyi Arhin has urged Kotoko and Ashgold to ditch plans to play in Africa and rather use the opportunity to prepare for the following season.

“Looking at our current situation I will humbly advice Asante Kotoko & AshantiGold SC not to participate in the 2020-2021 CAF Inter-Club competitions”, the former Techiman Eleven Wonders CEO said.

He added, “I want Asante Kotoko to focus more on the Adako Jachie project and the upgrade of it’s Secretariat than playing in the Africa.

“If the stakeholders of the club will decide to partake in Africa who am I to ask them to stop but my only advice to them is to avoid it for now and prepare well in the subsequent season”.

Asante Kotoko has been selected to play in the CAF Champions League with Ashgold set to participate in the Confederations Cup.
