Dortmund Jump Ahead of Premier League Clubs in Queue to Sign Highly-Rated Midfielder

Borussia Dortmund are set to beat Liverpool and Chelseato the signing of highly ratedBorussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud in the summer transfer window.

The German U21 has attracted a lot of interest from top clubs for his stand out performances in the Bundesliga this season and last season, with Liverpool and Dortmund the most likely of destinations for him.

However, Liverpool are set to miss out on the highly rated midfielder as he does not want to move abroad and out of Germany just yet, claiming it's as too soon. So he is more likely to move to Borussia Dortmund and stay in Germany for a little longer.

This is a huge blow for Liverpool as Dahoud has been on their radar for some while now and is exactly thetype of player that they need to help them push for the title next season. He is also the type of player that Klopp both likes and wants.

Dahoud has been likened to Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil for his creative style, so he won't come cheap. Especially with him being only 21-years-old. He also has a lot of room to grow and has the potential to become one of the best midfielders around.

Borussia Monchengladbach manager Max Eberl has been speaking to German news outlet Kicker ViaSport1about them trying to renew Dahoud'scontract:

"We are going to have more talks in the near future. We want Mo to take the second and third steps."

If he doesn't sign a new contract it is very likely that he will leave the club, even if he does sign a new one it could just be a way ofBorussia Monchengladbach potentiallymaking a lot more money out of him. He is definitelya player to watch.
