In preparation for the highly anticipated Afcon U-23 tournament, the assistant coach of the Black Meteors, Godwin Attram, stresses the significance of their training tour in Egypt.

Recognizing the importance of thorough preparation, Attram emphasizes the invaluable impact that this tour will have on the team's performance as they gear up to represent the country.

"We are going to a tour first before we do most of our evaluation on how to choose the final squad that is 23 man squad to the tournament. Qualifiers is hard we use most of our local players but this time around we have been able to get some professionals who have played for the Black Stars before to beef up the squad," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"This will help us I think our head coach Ibrahim Tanko he has done a great job with the technical team. Right now we have some of the new players we don't see them us new but we take is as that they have played for Black Stars but haven't trained under us before,"

"They are now coming to train and play friendly matches so this season we are going on a training tour to play Egypt and other match so two matches before we do training and go to the tournament is important to us so that the players who don't know us they will see how we do things,"

The Black Meteors will take the young Pharaohs in an international friendly on June 15 and play a second friendly with a yet-to-be-named country before flying to Morocco.

The tournament in Morocco will start on June 24 and end on July 7, 2023.
