Egyptian referee nominated for 2022 FIFA World Cup

Egyptian referee Amin Omar has been nominated to be one of the referees for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 2022 World Cup has been confirmed to kick-off during club competitions as it begins on 22 November and ends on 18 December.

And on Tuesday, FIFA announced the list of African candidate referees for the World Cup, which includes Amin Omar (Egypt), Bamlak Tessema (Ethiopia), Mustapha Ghorbal (Algeria), Jean Jacques Nadala (DR Congo), Maguette Ndiaye (Senegal), and Radouane Jiyed (Morocco).

It’s worth noting that Egypt have been drawn in Group F of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with Gabon, Libya, and Angola.

The qualifiers have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic as CAF are yet to announce the fixture dates.
