Eight players dropped from Ghana U23 squad by coach Ibrahim Tanko

Black Meteors of Ghana head coach Ibrahim Tanko has dropped eight players from the team camping base in Prampram.

Twenty-two players were invited to start camping for the preparations ahead of the upcoming CAF U-23 Championship qualifier against Togo.

The technical team has this morning dropped eight players from the squad in order to hand invitation some foreign players.

But according to an Accra-based radio station, Happy FM, eight of the twenty-two players are above 23 years and have therefore been sent home.

Below are the eight players dropped from the squad: Dacosta -Inter Allies Joseph Esso- Hearts Of Oak Bright Enchill -Medeama Cletus Nombile – Dreams FC Douglas Owusu-Ansah- Kotoko Toufic Mohammed- Star Madrid Ibrahim Yaro – Medeama SC and Moro Salifu of Bechem.

The three foreign-based players invited to augment the squad include Joel Fameyah (Dinamo Brest), Isaac Twum (IK Start) and Gideon Mensah (FC Liefering).

Ghana will host their counterparts from Togo on Tuesday, 18th December 2018 in the first leg of the first round of CAF U-23 Championship qualifier in Kumasi.

The male national -23 team have never qualified to the CAF U-23 Championship since it’s inception in 2011. The competition also serves as the qualifiers for the Olympic Games.
