Italy-born winger of Ghanaian descent, Emmanuel Gyasi scored his first goal in the Italian Serie A on Sunday evening during Spezia Calcio’s 2-2 draw against Cagliari.

The pacey forward earned a starting role to help the visitors fight for a win against the Matchday 9 opponent of the 2020/2021 Italian top-flight league season at the Sardegna Arena.

As in past matches, Emmanuel Gyasi displayed impressive form today and produced the first goal for Spezia Calcio after latching onto a pass from Simone Bastoni.

Although his team held on to the goal and went into the break with the lead, Cagliari returned stronger in the second half to score two goals through strikes from Joao Pedro and Leonardo Pavoletti to turn the tide in their favour.

Now trailing 2-1, Spezia Calcio put up a fight and managed to earn a point at the end of the 90 minutes thanks to a last-minute penalty converted by M'Bala Nzola.

On the Matchday, Emmanuel Gyasi lasted 80 minutes before his place was taken by Kevin Agudelo.
