Ensure fans fill stadia - GFA boss Kurt Okraku charges clubs

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku has made a passionate appeal to clubs to ensure their fans troop to the stadium to watch their games.

Attendance at the various stadia in the topflight and lower division has been poor in the past years.

With the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League scheduled to kick off next week at various venues, Mr. Okraku has appealed to the clubs to get their fans to the stadium.

"Our fans are not consuming our football, they are absent in our venues. It’s not the responsibility of the FA to ensure fans troop to the stadium," he said during Congress at Prampram on Tuesday.

"The clubs must be practical, and proactive and put up strategies to bring back the fans. Go down the streets and speak to them, listen to them, and know their concerns.

"If you fail to bring the fans sponsors like betPawa and Malta Guineas will not come on board," he added.

The 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League kicks off on September 9.
