Everton Enquire Over West Brom's Saido Berahino as Serie A Duo Enter Race for Striker

Everton have enquired over the availability of West Brom striker Saido Berahino.

TheDaily Mailreports that Berahino is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Baggies, and Tony Pulis' side would rather cash in now than wait until the summer.

The club could still command a compensation fee in the summer should no deal be forthcoming, but would prefer to instigate a bidding war between the likes of Everton, Stoke City, Newcastle and West Ham in January.

Everton have been overly reliant on Romelu Lukaku's goals this season, and are looking to improve their options going forward. Ronald Koemanalso has the likes of Enner Valencia and Arouna Kone available, but neither strikers have registered a Premier League goal so far this season.

Berahino has made just four league appearances, and could leave the club at the end of the season for a fee around £300k. European sides Nice, Inter Milan and Roma are all said to be interested in the 23-year-old, who has seen Saloman Rondon usurp him in the striking pecking order.

Everton are also said to be interested Charlton Athletic prospect Ademola Lookman. The Toffees are hoping to wrap up an £11m dealfor the 19-year-old, who has scored five League One goals so far this season.

Charlton are keen for Lookman to stay at the club on loan as part of the deal, but Koeman is keen for the youngster to join his squad immediately.

Everton's win over Leicester on Boxing Day moved them up to seventh in the Premier League, with goals from Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku earning the club a 2-0 win.
