Everton to bid for Eloy Room after rejecting Vitesse contract offer

Published on: 13 July 2017

Everton are ready to pounce for Vitesse Arnhem goalkeeper Eloy Room.

Room has turned down a new contract offer from Vitesse and is now ready to leave.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman is ready to pounce, with Room keen to move to the Premier League. A bid in the region of €1.7m is expected.

Vitesse coach Henk Fraser has confirmed Room is likely to be sold.

"Everyone has ambition, both the player and Vitesse," said Fraser. "There is also a lot of interest in him.

"Room knows how highly I think of him, but this is obviously his own choice."
