Former Ghana and Bayern Munich defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has reportedly bought King Faisal FC ahead of their 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.

Earlier last week, the bank-roller of the club, Alhaji Karim Grunsah revealed his intentions to sell the club to a new owner due to financial constraints after their Premiership status was affirmed at the 2019 Ghana FA Extraordinary Congress in Accra.

Kuffour, 43, has purchased his boyhood club with the dream of making them one of the biggest clubs in Ghana.

He featured for King Faisal FC in 1991 before moving to Italy Torino at age 15.

He joined Bayern Munich in 1993 where he spent 11 years, rising from the youth teams to be a prominent first-squad member who lifted the UEFA Champions League with the club.

Kuffour made 54 appearances for the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars and scored three goals in the process.
