Former Black Stars defender Shilla Illiasu has charged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to have a dialogue with the senior national team players on their bonuses ahead of the World Cup.

Last Friday, Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif disclosed Ghana’s budget for Black Stars’ participation in the group stage of World Cup is a little over $8 million.

Ussif also revealed that the amount will increase based on the stage the Black Stars will reach at the global showpiece, however, he failed to mention the appearance fees, players of the Black Stars will receive.

"Although everybody is looking for money but I will say it is not about that," Shilla Illiasu told Radio Gold.

“Most of the players some of them are playing outside, the money they are taking it’s not about the winning bonus in the national team.

"So they only target to go and make their name and get more contract outside.

“In 2014, our preparation back in Ghana was poor because they didn’t communicate well to them.

“They [players] didn’t go there to look for money but the communication back in Ghana was very poor, that’s why they went to Brazil and that kind of incident happened.

Black Stars have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

Black Stars will play Switzerland in an International friendly on November 17, before travelling to Qatar for the World Cup.
