Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi is set to extend FC Sochaux-Montbéliard contract, Footballghana.com can report.

FC Sochaux-Montbéliard are optimistic that Ati-Zigi will accept the club's offer of a contract extension following his return to the team.

He joined the French Ligue 2 side on a four-year deal from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in 2017.

The 22-year-old has been used sporadically for past two seasons as skipper Maxence Prévot was preferred as the number one choice.

However, he has been convincing between the sticks since taking over the goal post from the injured Prévot.

His impressive display has helped convinced the club hierarchy to give him a new contract a contract extension, which he is expected to sign in the coming days.

The highly-rated youngster was part of the Black Stars team that reached the Round of 16 stage at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
