EXCLUSIVE: Nathaniel Clyne Reveals the Team He Plays as on FIFA When He Doesn't Use Liverpool

Published on: 27 September 2016

England defender Nathaniel Clyne has revealed the one club he plays as on FIFA when he's not playing as current club Liverpool, and there's no prizes for guessing who.

Here's a clue. They've got two former Liverpool superstars as first team regulars. They're widely regarded as the best club side in the world. They're the champions of Spain.

It's Barcelona, obviously.

Clyne, speaking at the launch of EA SPORTS FIFA 17 to 90min, was quizzed on his FIFA habits ahead of the release of the new game on Thursday. And he didn't need to be asked twice about who he's first to play as if he doesn't choose the Merseysiders.

He said:"Barcelona! It's always Barcelona. FIFA puts them as the best team on the game and they've got good players. And they've got (Lionel) Messi too, all you have to do is pass the ball to him!

"Sometimes I play in my spare time, play a bit of FIFA with my friends and online as well - online friendlies, really."

Clyne is rated as an overall 81 on FIFA Ultimate Team for the new game - making no change from last year - and it's a rating he's rather happy with. He does however feel he warrants a higher rating than the 79 he's been handed for his defensive work.

He added:"I'm happy with an 81. The dribbling's good, and physical (rating), but maybe defence could have been a bit higher.

"Maybe I need to shoot more and score more goals and that'll (shooting) get higher too!"

Clyne is quite the player on FIFA games, but he also revealed one teammate is particularly good on the game:"Alberto Moreno is pretty good. He plays FIFA quite a lot."

Nathaniel Clyne was speaking at the launch of EA SPORTS FIFA 17, out this Thursday (29th September) on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and all other formats. To find out more visit easports.co.uk/fifa #FIFA17.
