Executive Committee Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer has debunked reports that Kwesi Appiah has been chosen as the next Black Stars trainer.

Reports went rife in the media on Wednesday that, the Al Khartoum coach has been given the nod ahead of the other four coaches reported to be on the five-man shortlist that the six-member committee constituted by the Ghana FA to find Avram Grant's replacement revealed last week.

“No coach has been appointed as the coach of the Black Stars," Osei, who is also a member of the GFA Executive Committee, told GNA.

"We are still in search for a coach and we don’t want anybody to ridicule the process.”

“We know what exactly we are looking for.”

"If at a certain point, we feel that Kwesi Appiah is the right man for the job, we won’t hesitate to offer him the job.”

“For now, other suitors are being considered for the job and that’s what we have now.”

The GFA reportedly received applications over 110 coaches, including four natives but the list has since been narrowed down to five coaches with Kwesi Appiah being the only local coach in the shortlist.
