In a strategic move to bolster their defensive lineup, FC Augsburg has set its sights on a promising acquisition.

The club's interest in Swiss Ghanaian defender Gregory Wuthrich, as revealed by sources at LAOLA1, marks a determined effort to fortify their backline amidst a challenging season.

With a string of injuries plaguing their defensive core, including sidelined central defenders Reece Oxford and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Augsburg's pursuit of Wuthrich signifies a proactive step to address their current vulnerabilities.

Gregory Wüthrich has been with SK Sturm Graz since 2020. In 115 competitive games, the center defense scored seven goals and assisted on six others.

Gregory Wüthrich's resume includes 87 appearances in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, twelve Europa League games, and four Champions League qualification games.

SK Sturm Graz's deal with the 28-year-old expires in the summer of 2025. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at three million euros. According to Kicker, the transfer cost is about two million euros.
