Fifa Women's Rankings: Ghana drops in the latest world standings

Published on: 16 April 2021

Black Queens dropped in the latest FIFA Women's world rankings released on Friday, April 16.

Despite struggling to regroup after Caf's Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualification exclusion at the hands of Cote d'Ivoire in September 2019, Nigeria climbed one spot to 37th in December 2020.

However, the Super Falcons' impressive performance at the Turkish Women's Cup in February 2021 was not enough to save them from falling to 38th place, despite the fact that they still lead the African list.

Despite victories over Zambia and Botswana in April, Desiree Ellis' South Africa team fell two points to 55th in the rankings.

Following Mercy Tagoe's side's inactivity after a double friendly victory over Morocco last November, Ghana fell two positions to 60th.
