FC Jazz have confirmed the appointment of former Ghana youth international Seth Ablade as their new head coach.

The 35-year-old Ghanaian will be succeeding Olli Orvasto who left the club last month.

He has been with Finnish third-tier side as youth team coach since 2016 when he retired from active football.

After joining the 2-time Finnish champions, he expressed his happiness and says he is ready for the task ahead after honing his coaching skills at the juvenile side.

“I am really happy for this opportunity. Moreover, I am glad that I have gotten the chance to become the club’s head coach,” Ablade told the club’s website.

“I hope the crew stays well because the team have skilled players who can deliver in all games,”

He also laid out his playing philosophy and hoped his players will play to his style.

” I want my team to move the ball quickly and play bravely up the field. It is also important that we defend with few errors and exhibit high quality," he added.

Ablade featured for Ghana in the 1999 U-17 World Cup in New Zealand, winning a bronze medal.

He arrived in Finland in 2004 and has previously played for clubs including Great Redeemers, FC Kärnten, KUPS and  Oulun Palloseura.
