In a significant stride towards helping the development of women's football, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that footballs specially designated for the Women's Premier League teams are now ready for pickup.
The first 20 footballs will be distributed to each of the 20 Women's Premier League teams at the beginning of the season. The second 20 footballs will be distributed at the commencement of the second round of the premier Women's league.
This is in fulfillment of the pledge made to clubs by GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku during the 29th Ordinary Congress of the GFA on July 10, 2023, in Kumasi.
All Women's Premier League clubs are instructed to pick up their footballs at the GFA Secretariat on Tuesday, August 22, 2023,
The distribution of footballs to Women's Premier League clubs is made possible by the GFA's partnership with Decathlon Ghana, and it is one of the efforts aimed at offsetting some of the clubs' expenses.
The Women's Premier League is set to begin on October 30, 2023.
