Former Albania deputy Minister of Education Artan Shyti, has advocated for strict laws to be enforced in order to prevent players with health issues from playing following the sudden demise of Ghana forward Raphael Dwamena.

Dwamena collapsed on the pitch during an Albanian Super League match on Saturday between his club Egnatia and Partizani Tirana.

Despite immediate medical attention, he passed away soon after. The tragic incident occurred in the 24th minute on Saturday.

Speaking to Report TV, Artan Shyti, who is a former manager of Teuta club called on UEFA to enact swift laws against players with health issues in order to prevent such players from playing following the death of the Black Stars striker.

"The investigation should also be done by the federation, with a cold mind. Even the Ministry of Education and Sports has not made a reaction to the case. The state is also particularly responsible. At the end of the analysis, there should and can be responsibility. They should not have to pay this cost, because it is a tragic event, because even the people of Rogozhina were shocked

The morale was that of Partizan, who did not get it, but it is subjective. If the doctor says it's okay, it's his responsibility and that's indisputable. All clubs have doctors, but they are paid very little. Clubs should spend more on this because the medical staff should be bigger."

"Sport is the antithesis of death. Playing sick football is the responsibility of the individual, the club and UEFA itself. There are no regulations, but why should he play when it was not allowed in Spain and England."

Dwamena, the league's top scorer this season with 12 goals in 12 matches, made eight appearances for Ghana and scored twice internationally.

His career included stints in Spain, Denmark and Switzerland. Local media reports have focused on Dwamena's previous heart problems.

In 2021, he was hospitalized after collapsing during a game in Austria while playing for Blau-Weiss Linz.
