Former Bayern Munich defender Sammy Kuffour says he cannot wait for the club to complete the signing of Liverpool forward Sadio Mane in this summer transfer window.

The Bundesliga champions have already had two bids rejected for the 30-year-old, who led Senegal to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon by beating Egypt on penalties in the final.

The Merseyside club have set a £42m price tag on the wantaway forward which Bayern fell just short of when they a tabled a bid worth £30m this week.

"I would be more than glad to have him in a Bayern Munich shirt because he is so special," Kuffour said as quoted by

"If you see the way he plays his football, he can also adapt to the German league because when you play in the Premier League, you can adapt everywhere. So, I am praying and crossing my fingers that Bayern Munich will get him," he added.
