Former Black Satellites captain Clifford Aboagye does not regret Udinese move

Former Ghana youth star Clifford Aboagye says he has no regrets joining Udinese despite struggles at the club.

Aboagye joined the Italian Serie A outfit before the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup tournament in Turkey. He became a subject of interest for several clubs after lighting up the youth World Cup but had to join Udinese due to his earlier commitment.

After failing to settle at Udinese, the midfielder joined Granada in Spain and had almost four-year spell with the club before departing to Mexico in 2017.

Speaking to Linus Siaw Nartey monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Inter Allies star insisted he does not regret his move to Udinese.

“A lot of people didn’t know; I have signed for Udinese before the U20 World Cup so I didn’t have any choice. After the World Cup, a lot of clubs came after me but since I signed for Udinese at a tender age I needed to join them and see what’s next”

“The Italian football wasn’t my type of game so I went to Udinese and they looked at the best option for me and they said the Spanish football will be good for me. Who wouldn’t sign for Udinese at a very young age? So I had that opportunity and had to take it. I wouldn’t say I regret or made a bad decision joining Udinese, it’s part of the process” he added.

Since moving to Mexico, he has had spells with Atlas, Querétaro, Tijuana, and Puebla.
